Amanda Fish is an incredibly kind, buoyant teacher. She brought me consistency, pushed me to my best, and listened to my wants and needs. Amanda is an incredibly versatile teacher that seeks to find what each student needs and/or wants and help them towards that goal. I always knew that she would fit in additional lessons, record accompaniment tracks, or just talk to me about the industry. Through lessons with Amanda Fish, I have become so much more confident in the audition process, singing in front of audiences, and my ability to learn music. Amanda helped me build my audition book of songs, better understand music theory, and learn to follow along with underlying music scores. Going on to pursue theatre performance in college, Amanda prepared me with proper etiquette, expectations, and techniques. I am immensely grateful for the time I had studying with Amanda and would recommend her to anyone looking for a vocal coach due to her eagerness, her sweetness, and her patience.

Amanda is an amazing teacher. In just a month with her my voice quality and technique improved greatly. She is well versed in many types of rep, skills, and warm ups and together we created a learning environment and schedule that suited me best. She supported me through all of my college auditions by providing me with material that worked well with both my voice and character type. I am still asked to sing some of the material we found together by my professors in college! She is invested in the local performing arts community in every way possible and even makes sure to attend her students shows. I am so grateful for everything I learned from her.

I have been a vocal student of Amanda Fish for five years. Throughout my tenure as her student, I gained essential knowledge about vocal technique, sight-singing, and ear training. Since my first lesson, I always felt comfortable working with Amanda. Her positive teaching style is extremely informative while making lessons enjoyable. She encourages her students that it is okay to make mistakes in lessons and takes those opportunities to help them learn and grow. Amanda always shapes the lesson toward my personal goals. She ensures that I feel confident and prepared for upcoming performances. Amanda also has a wealth of knowledge on musical theatre repertoire and works hard to find pieces that I like and that highlight my strengths. In addition, she often shares valuable wisdom and useful tips and tricks for successful auditions and performances. Amanda is a wonderful teacher with extensive training who cares about each of her students.

Amanda was my voice coach for about 5 years, and I had such an amazing time with her! She introduced me to musical theatre and even though at the time I wasn't interested in it, I am thankful she was consistent in helping me sing it anyway! She has always known what has been best for my voice and made performing at talent shows and coffeehouses a lot less stressful with our rehearsals! Having her to coach me and help improve on the style of singing I wanted to do has been such a great experience in my life! Anyone who has her as a vocal coach is lucky to have her.

I worked with Amanda Fish for about three years and I saw drastic improvement in my voice each year! Amanda is so kind, understanding, and patient when it comes to teaching. That is very important especially for new singers trying to find their voice! Amanda helped me with many auditions, invited me to participate in the NATS competitions, and she taught me a lot of vocal techniques whether it was breathing styles or specific vocal placements to hit all the notes. Amanda helped me so much in my musical success throughout high school and I could not be more thankful!

My daughter Angela took lessons with Amanda for almost 6 years, and it was one of the most enriching experiences of her childhood, and it will always be a part of her, and our, memories. Amanda trained our daughter in classical style and always had a positive and encouraging attitude, and music will be in her life forever because of her experience with Amanda. Our daughter is basically a professional level singer because of her experience with Amanda: she placed in the top three of VA NATS for several years, and also came in 2nd place in the Mid Atlantic Regional NATS. She also consistently made all County, and on one occasion, all VA choir at her high school as well. Our daughter won many leading roles in musical theatre due to her voice. Amanda is an amazing person, an incredible singer, and was a great mentor and trainer to our daughter, and our whole family will never forget her.

I have been taking singing lessons with Miss Amanda for 4 years.  I always loved to sing and I met Miss Amanda when I was in a musical and then signed up for lessons with her.  I was amazed to discover how much there is to actually learn about how to sing properly - techniques for hitting high notes, how to protect and warm up your voice and other things.  Miss Amanda is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had for anything.  I love to spend time with her and I'm so happy that I can still see her online every week even with all the coronavirus shutdowns.  Last year, I got the lead in my school musical and I've been asked to sing lead regularly in my choir.  I also joined a rock band a year ago and Miss Amanda is so great about supporting all of my singing efforts.  I know she is a big part of why I've been able to enjoy all of these things.

Amanda Fish is an outstanding voice teacher. She especially helped me out by preparing me for an audition i had for a show at school. I had never felt more prepared than I did for an audition before. She has super fun warmups and is great at giving ways to improve your voice. She also encouraged me to participate in the VA NATS competition, which resulted in lots of helpful feedback on my voice. This was an amazing experience and I’m glad she had me do it. I am so thankful to have had such an amazing voice teacher like Amanda!

I have been taking singing lessons with Amanda Fish for about 4 years. Every class, she always greets me with a welcoming smile. She is an incredibly encouraging teacher who doesn’t judge you, and a great friend. I used to meet her in-person and later switched to virtual lessons. She has taught me so many vocal techniques and many different vocal exercises that have helped me become an overall better singer. I enjoy our sessions and always look forward to them. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their singing.
